As a neighbor my junior year in college and a past friend Monica visited me in my home town during college. I was deeply sadened to hear of her passing and wanted to pass on my deepest regrets. She was a friend, and although I had not seen her in years I will be deeply missed. I wish all her friends and family strength in your time of loss. Well where to start. I had a friend call me on Wednesday night to turn on channel 11 because someone from New Richmond was going be on the EXTRA section and new I grew up in New Richmond and thought I may want to see it. Well I have been very out of touch with my old home town only get back a few times a year but when I saw the report it instantly made me think about my high school days. I did not know Monica and Missy well but I knew them. I want to say to everyone involved with the set up of the benefits from what I have seen you all did an exceptional job and I commend you. I will make special effort to keep up on any events in the future and plan to attend. I would also like to tell all of Monica's Family and Friends that you all are in our Thoughts and Prayers. It is very hard to lose a close friend or family member but with the great support you all have I believe you will put through is stride. I have just been informed recently and I have to tell you that you and your family have been inbedded in my thoughts and prayers constantly! I could not believe any of it until I found this website. For once, I am at a lose for words. The last time I saw you (Missy and Paul) was at the Woodbury Half Marathon last August, which was ironically the last time that I have ran (been slowed by a partially torn achilles). I plan on running once again (and the first time since) to support you and your family. May God Bless you and your family!

Monica, I just heard about you through a friend of mine. I am in the unique situation of understanding a little about your fight against Melanoma. I am a twin, and my fraternal twin sister fought against metastasized Melanoma for 4 years. (9 years total from the time of her mole removal). She lived in Northfield, MN and my husband and I moved here to be with her a year ago. 5 months ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am fighting my own fight against that now, and am almost finished with my chemo at Mayo. Although my sister's battle ended a year ago this month - I am so confident that her renewed body and ever- happy and joyful spirit is with me as I fight today and every day. We are organizing a walk here in Northfield, MN on April 28th in coordination with Melanoma International Foundation, in hope to increase awareness and promote early detection for this terrible disease. It is wonderful to see all the support you have and the events your family and friends have planned for you. I would love to support you and your fight too this April and hope I can make it to Wisconsin to do so. Please know that my prayers, my heart and my fighting spirit are with you as you do battle every day. God bless. Barb Foster
